PhD student (m/w/d) Pediatric Cardiology
Start in our Team
The University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), and the Department of Pediatric Cardiology, offer a PhD position in the research group of Prof. Dr. Daniela Panáková for the project P8 “Elucidating the Prickle-dependent and independent protein-protein interactions of the membrane protein Vangl2 in myoblasts and in developing heart muscle cells” within the DFG-funded Research Training Group “Regulation of Membrane Proteins” starting on 01. October 2025 with 4 years fixed-term.
Within the RTG-ReMPro (www.rtg-rempro.de), we aim to understand how posttranslational modifications (PTMs) influence the plasticity of membrane proteins for the regulation of cells, specialized tissues and body homeostasis. Dysregulation of membrane proteins can lead to pathological conditions. Our vision is that the RTG-ReMPro will lead to a better understanding of the diverse modifications of membrane proteins, by analyzing posttranslational events that regulate the function of receptors, proteases, channels, transporters, and adhesion molecules. The proposed work program of the RTG-ReMPro is ideally suited for the training of doctoral students from natural sciences and medicine.
