 Start in our Team

The Department of Pediatric Cardiology, Prof. Dr. Daniela Panáková, offers a PhD position in her research group in Decoding Transcriptional Regulation in Regeneration by Advanced Genomics and Computational Tools funded by the DANIO-ReCODE MSCA 2023 Doctoral Network. Join our team and support us at the earliest possible date.

What we offer:

  • A full-time PhD position, currently 38.5 hours/week with flexible working hours

What to expect:

  • World-class doctoral training to a new generation of early-career researchers interested in understanding the complex and multilayered process of tissue regeneration
  • The Combination of multidisciplinary expertise of 15 research laboratories at renowned EU and UK scientific institutions to unravel the regulatory mechanisms of heart, brain, and eye regeneration by employing the unique and highly tractable zebrafish model system (More information here: https://danio-recode.eu/available-positions/)
  • The project goal is to characterize cis-regulatory networks in heart muscle cells in heart regeneration. A key question is whether the same genetic programs that control cardiac muscle differentiation during development, are reactivated in the heart regeneration process
  • International team, state-of-the-art equipped lab, networking and training within the consortium, and dedicated support in career development planning

What you bring along:

  • A diploma / masters’ degree in life sciences / biology / bioinformatics
  • Background in bioinformatics or computer / data science is an asset but not a requirement
  • Familiarity with molecular biology and other common laboratory techniques - Knowledge of the zebrafish model is not required
  • The ability to work independently and in a team
  • The applicant should comply with the mobility rules: in general, they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date
