he Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM) - Microbiome Platform – Anaerobic culturing branch
This position is within the group led by Prof. Mathilde Poyet (Institute of Experimental Medicine, Evolutionary Medicine Department) in close collaboration with Prof. Mathieu Groussin (Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology, Genetics & Bioinformatics Department) and Dr. Corinna Bang (Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology, Immunogenetics and Bioinformatics Department), at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. Find more information on the Poyet-Groussin lab here: https://mmmicrobiomelab.org/
We combine computational and experimental investigations to understand host-microbiome interactions. A flagship initiative of our group is the Global Microbiome Conservancy (GMbC), through which we built a worldwide cohort of human populations spanning diverse genetic backgrounds, diets, and lifestyles. This unique resource, together with clinical cohort data, enables us to address fundamental questions in microbiome ecology, host-microbe co-evolution, and the microbial contributions to chronic diseases.
